Applied Clinical Research

The Course

The course provides undergraduate students interested in a medical or medical research career the opportunity to learn fundamental clinical research concepts and to participate in on-going clinical research. This course provides students with directed and supervised exposure to clinical medical research by skilled clinical investigators. This course exists to provide elective credit (2 units per semester) towards undergraduate degrees.

This course introduces students to fundamental concepts of clinical research to those interested in pursing a career in medicine or medical research. In addition to lectures introducing students to research design, errors in research, and basic biostatistics, there is significant emphasis on participation in on-going medical research at Denver Health Medical Center. This unique experience provides students with first-hand exposure to all aspects of clinical research.
